I have just read a really good post on forgiveness over at Times & Seasons. The fifth comment really impressed me, in particular:
“Bitterness is the poison someone drinks intentionally with the hope that someone else will die.â€? – Dr. Laura Schlesinger
“The weak never can forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. – Mahatma Ghandi
The Forgiving (Carol Lynn Pearson)
Forgive?
Will I forgive,
You cry.
But
What is the gift,
The favor?
You would lift
Me from
My poor place
To stand beside
The Savior.
You would have
Me see with
His eyes,
Smile,
And with Him
Reach out to
Salve
A sorrowing heart—
For one small
Moment
To share in
Christ’s great art.
Will I forgive,
You cry.
Oh,
May I—
May I?

I love Dr. Laura. I listen to her all the time driving home. She’s a no-nonsense family supporter and her calls are hilarious and dramatic. Do you guys pick her up over there?

No, I had no idea who she is. I just stole the quote from the comment on the other blog.
She’s on radio is she? Or TV?

Dr. Laura kicks butt (perhaps I should send her to do some of that to MN–referring to latest post).
She’s on the radio. I catch her every once in awhile.

Kristen, that’s a brilliant idea! 😉

Dr. Laura is a crazy bossy-butt who has the biggest soapbox of anyone on the planet. She makes good points and has good values but she is such a jerk about getting to them so the meaning is lost. And she’s really insensitive.

Okay…sometimes she is a little brash…but she has such a good heart and good ideas. I still love her. And the people that call know she’s like that and are still so appreciative for her advice and counsel.

Dude–that’s the beauty of the show. How do you think she gets the ratings? She is a little abrasive, but hello–you should know that before calling in. (Also, some of the callers are stupid–don’t they know what her response is going to be?). At least there’s someone out there who has good standards and not afraid to admit it!
